Sequel to: Naara Laaka
-----------------------------------------------------
Authors note: Ok I finally got inspired to write this, so here is the sequel to the story, and yes you all get to find out what Shin and Ryo fought about... (if I can come up with a good reason this time around, cause I couldn't last time around.. that's why I never put the reason in there. ^.^:; ) Umm... yes the languages used in here is real, it's called Mota, no it's not all spelled right... I can speak it but I can't write it, so I just guess at the spellings, and some of it is not pronounced the way you would pronounce it in english.... Mota is an island in the south pacific, I lived there for about 8 or so years. So.. that's the story behind that if anyone's interested. But enough notes and everything else, that is pointless rambling, on to the story (before I put you all to sleep).
-----------------------------------------------------
Ryo yawned and started to roll over onto his back, only to become quickly awake. He realized suddenly that here was another body on the mattress next to him. Blinking, Ryo's sleepiness, vanished but not totally. Carefully he turned his head, to get the second surprise of the early day. It was Shin who was snuggled up against him, with a blissfully smile. Then all the events of the night before came back to him in a flash, and he put his head down on the pillow.
/Wow!/ he thought with another yawn. He wanted terribly to believe that this was all true, that he wasn't just dreaming. He had, had so many dreams in the past it was hard to tell them apart anymore, but deep down he knew it was real. He could feel it just like he could feel Shin's head on his shoulder and the heat of his body pressed against his.
Ryo started to move, but Shin stopped him with a little whimper. Ryo smiled softly, at the other, and didn't move. He lay there on the mattress, watching shin as he slept with a lazy little smile. He wasn't tired but that didn't mean that he, at all wanted to get up yet.
"You know you're even cuter when your asleep. " Ryo whispered softly. "Then when your awake. Not that you aren't cute then to." he added brushing his fingers across Shin's cheek in a gentle caress, like that of a lover.
/Lover... That's what we are. Again! Shin I love you!/
But Shin didn't wake up, he just smiled and moved a little closer to Ryo. Of course Ryo didn't mind one single bit. Why should he? A moment of silent blissfulness went by. Gently Ryo slipped his other arm around Shin and closed his blue eyes for a few minutes, savoring the moment.
While outside, the roasters were still crowing loudly, and people were starting to move about at the insistent ringing of the wake up bell. It rang at about 6:30 am every morning calling the people to raise and prepare for the morning prayers.
---------------------------------
Shin yawned, slowly rolling over with a sigh. He'd been having the best dream of all. He'd dreamt that Ryo had been laying next to him, holding him close. But ryo wasn't there, and he didn't want to open his eyes yet. So Shin snuggled down again, keeping his eyes closed, trying to recaptured the lost dream.
It was a few minutes before the sound of cutlery and then the sizzling of something cooking, slowly brought him back into the world. Slowly he sat up, blinking the sleep out of his sea green eyes. Shin was surprised to see Ryo standing in the kitchen, shaking his head Shin looked down at the mattress below him. The sandy floor of the house, below that.
/It wasn't a dream./ He thought, stretching leisurely.
Ryo glanced back, as Shin began to move. He smiled "Good morning, sleepy head. Did you sleep well?"
Shin nodded. "Yeah... I didn't just dream everything. Did I Ryou?"
Ryo laughed softly. "No Shin-chan, you didn't dream anything,
except maybe after you fell asleep." He turned back to the small
gas stove in the kitchen with a smirk. "Still like scrambled
eggs?"
"Yeah!" Shin blinked. "But where did you get eggs?" He asked.
"Bring 'em with you?"
"Yep I did." Ryo grinned. "A couple of 'em broke on the ride over here, but the rest made it through, just fine. I got some left over to, if you have any other ideas for 'em."
"Smells wonderful." Replied Shin, standing up with another yawn. "Maybe I will do some baking later. I haven't made anything sweet for a while. Or maybe some fresh bread would be nice... "
Ryo watched appreciatively as Shin stretched towards the ceiling. His slender, well built body subtle and strong. Much more so then it had been before. As he looked on, Ryo noticed the little things that he had missed in the moon light the night before. Shin had changed so much since he'd last seen him, not only in demeanor but in body as well, and Ryo could definitely appreciate the new, even though he'd lost a lot of his old boyish charms. However that, flat, muscular stomach, and the light tan that now covered most of his body were nice touches.
/He looks like a main, whose used to being out in the sun a lot. Without his shirt on!/ Ryo blushed slightly and turned back to the eggs. /I think I like the new Shin./ He admitted to himself a few minutes later, after taking in the strong thighs just barely hidden by the short cut-offs.
"I'm going to go out for a bit." Shin said in a lazy voice. "Need to take a leak."
"M'Kay." Ryo answered picking up the plate and sliding a pile of scrambled eggs onto it. "Don't take too long, the eggs are done, everything else will be soon."
Shin started to inquire into the everything else. But then decided against it, he just nodded as he unbolted the door, and stepped over the high door step. Pausing on the top step outside of the house, he turned his gaze down across the village. There were a few mothers, moving around in the early morning. Most had already headed to the creak, to get ready for the morning prayers. A couple of mothers, had younger children and were using a bit out of the communal, Water Tank that stood to one side of the church.
----------------------------------
Breakfast passed quickly and all that passed between them was small talk and looks. Despite the happenings of the night before, long quarrels, are never quite finished or forgotten so easily or so quickly. Even if both parties wish them to be so.
But as the last of the food disappeared from the plates, Shin stood up. Picking up the plates he headed into the small sectioned off kitchen, trying to ignore Ryo's watching eyes.
"I have some things I need to check on today, and a dive to make in the next village over." he said back to Ryo as he set the first plate on the rack in the window over the sink and stove unit. "You wana come? We can take a lunch and make a day of it. Or you can stay here if you want, make your self at home."
For a minute Ryo didn't say anything. Leaning back in his seat, he ran his fingers through his hair before saying quietly. "Do you want me to come, Shin-san?"
Shin set the last plate into the window shelf, looking out at the research building across from the house. "I want you to come if you want to come." He said finally with a little smile. "An extra pair of hangs is always helpful, since Leona won't be back for another couple of days... And I know Jenkin's who was helping me has other things he needs to be doing."
"Leona?" Ryo asked. he hadn't heard that name mentioned before. Though he knew that Shin hada partner, he'd never really taken much notice of it till now. He'd been too worried about what the others reaction to his sudden arrival would be. Though of course it make perfect sense for Shin to have a partner. After all one of the laws of the sea, was to never go out alone.
"Don't worry, we're just friends, we've always been just friends." Shin said softly. "You were the only one for me.. You always were."
"Oh." Ryo whispered standing up. "What... What should I do?" He finally asked feeling rather uncomfortable."
"Wall you might want to get a shirt and something other then boxers on. Their cute but not exactly appropriate. "Do you have any swimming trunks?" He added blushing slightly.
Ryo laughed out right. /I love you Shin./ But he couldn't find the tongue to say it. "I suppose your right, but I bet they'd look better on you." He said quickly with a grin. Handing Shin the two cups they'd used he winked. "Yea, I have some trunks..." He added quickly.
"Unless you like changing in bushes, I suggest you go put 'em on." Shin stated stacking the two cups on the rack in the window with a yawn.
"Can I use your room?" Ryo said picking up his suit case off the floor. "OR do you want me to change right here?"
Shin arched an eye brow. "Maybe later." He said turning away with a smirk. "Right now we got other things to do. If you change in the room I'll go get my stuff ready."
"Ok..." Ryo said heading for the room. "I can help after I change, if you want?"
"Sure..." Shin said heading out the door. "I'll be in the researching building when your done.
"Be right over."
"M'Kay."
----------------------------
Flopping down in the small pocked of sand they had found in one of the larger reef cups Ryo grinned over at Shin. The other who was still trailing behind him, winding up the instrument cable as he came. Glancing at Ryo, Shin winked back, before taking a seat on the other side of the cubby hole.
He picked up the rack of instruments on the end of the cable and began to record whatever it was he was looking for in his note book. Ryo watched him for a few moments, wondering what he was getting out of all his numbers and notes. But he wasn't really watching the numbers or the information that was being written down. No He was watching Shin, the lovely....
Shin looked up and smiled at him, and Ryo quickly looked away. "Shall I get the food out?" Ryo asked for something to say the silence finally getting to him.
"Yeah sure that would be nice." Shin said writing down a couple more things before capping his pen. "I'm going to go put these things back out."
"Ok." Ryo replied picking up the basket they'd brought the food in, while Shin headed back across the hot reef.
It was about mid day, and they had been out there for nearly three hours now. Checking traps, snorkeling in a couple places so that Shin could check things. Along with pulling up the little instruments things on the cables. Ryo really had no clue what they were doing half the time, but he was happy to be helping Shin. So he just did as the other asked, and enjoyed the time they spent together. Most of it in silence with a companionable comfort between them, and it was nice. Something he hadn't felt in a long time.
Ryo smiled slightly remembering the worried look he'd seen in Shin's eyes, when he'd slipped checking the last trap. He knew the other had been worried when he'd almost fallen back down the larger step of the reef. Ryo was glad he hadn't fallen, thanks to Shin who'd had the mind to catch him of course. But the look he'd seen in his lovers eyes had... Well it had been nice to know that he was worried about him.
"Food?" Ryo blinked bringing himself back to he real world to see Shin kneeling before him with a grin on his face. "You look like you were miles away." Shin said softly winking at Ryo as he sat down.
"No only a little ways away actually." He pulled out the bag of food, snagging a banana before passing it over to Shin.
"Really?" Shin asked arching an eye brow. "Anything I would be interested in?"
Looking up Ryo ran a hand through his hair with a sigh. "I was thinking about when you pulled me back up on the reef. You were worried about me... I was just thinking that it was nice to know that someone cared." He looked down at the banana, quickly busying himself peeling it.
"Of course I was worried about you." Shin watched Ryo his deep blue green eyes puzzled. "Despite our argument and everything that has happened between us Ryou, I still love you. That hasn't changed. I always cared about you and all the other guys, we all care about you and we all care about each other. That's what brings us all together..."
A nod. "I know... it's just we haven't been together in such a long time. I miss those times Shin, I hate to say it but I miss the fight against the Youjai Kai... I miss it because in those times we were so much closer, we had to be. Now... Now it's like we've moved apart. We're still close eyes but it's not the same as it was, and I miss that closeness, and I've missed you. I've missed you more then you can realize."
"You might be surprised." Shin whispered. "I know what you mean though Ryou. There was something we shared then, that we've lost now. Maybe it has to do with the connection to each other that the armor gave us, that we've lost some of that since we stopped using the armors. Their still a part of us but its more like their dormant."
"Yeah." Ryo sighed. "I'm sorry Shin... I really am Sorry, I never should have said the things I did to you. I never should have... never should have done what I did. I know that you've forgiven me, but it's just so hard to except." Ryo looked up blinking back tears as he met Shin's gaze. "How can you forgive me for what I did?"
Setting down the bag of food, Shin scooted over to sit before Ryo. Reaching out he places his hands on either side of Ryo's head, tears glistening in his own eyes. "Because I love you, because I always loved you, and because I know there is always going to be a time when we do things out of anger. We say things that we don't mean, and that's the way it is. I know you didn't mean what you said, and what you did you did out of anger. I can forgive you because I know you in here Ryou." He tapped Ryo's chest. "I love you."
"But... I hit you!" Ryo pleaded with Shin, trying to shake off the others touch. "DAMN IT SHIN! I would have done more if Shu had stopped me! What and all because of a stupid card!?"
"I know." Shin wrapped his arms around Ryo. "But it's ok, now. It doesn't matter Ryo it's in the past, I forgive you." He blinked back tears. "And you had every right to be angry! You didn't know the truth, what else were you supposed to think?"
"I could have listened to you... let you explain." Ryo sighed whipping away his tears as he looked up, avoiding Shin's gaze. "I'm sorry."
"Then learn from it, Ryou. Now you'll know to listen to me, and you won't let your anger, your emotions get away from you again. Let it go Ryo, except my forgiveness, and maybe we can put this behind us ne?" Shin kissed Ryo's cheek softly. "We can't live in the past anymore Ryo-kun, we have to move forward. And if your ready, I know I am."
Taking a deep breath, Ryo nodded. "If you can forgive it not forget, then so can I. I don't know what I would do without you and your wisdom." He reached over to brush his fingers softly across Shin's cheek, whipping away the wind kissed tears there. "I don't know what I did without you, these last few years. But it doesn't matter now, we're together again, ne? I'm not saying we won't have our problems, that's just part of everything. We will have problems and not everything will be so easily forgotten but I'm willing to work at it, if you are?"
He was greeted with a smile. "Hai, Ryou-kun. Now."
"Good, then if you'll let me, I want to show you my love. In a way that is most definitely physical, we have plenty of time for the romantic stuff later." Ryo traces his fingers slowly up Shin's chest, and Shin ran a hand across Ryo's shoulders.
"I would love to." Shin replied slightly. "Only I wouldn't mind being on top now and then." He winked. "As long as you don't mind trying out the bottom sometimes."
Ryo chuckled. "Might be interesting, can we save it for later?"
"I'm all yours." Shin breathed as the sea crashed against the reef behind him. With a leisurely grin, he lay back down on the sand stretching one hand out behind his head, and pulling Ryo down after him with the other.
"You know Swimming trunks are a lot easier to get out of then jeans." Ryo noted with a grin, getting a laugh out of Shin who was watching him with an amused smile.
"Well get used to it, if your going to be staying with me for a while." Shin winked, kicking his own swimming trunks off. "Come on you take to long."
"What someone in a hurry?" Ryo teased running his fingers across Shin's chest. Ryo grinned dribbling a little of the green coconut they'd brought with them into Shin's mouth, watching him swallow it with a grin. Taking a sip Ryo set it a side leaning forward to nibble at Shin's lower lip. Only he didn't get a chance to get very far as the other leaned forward to kiss him, with almost bruising force. "Damn." Ryo breathed as Shin lay back down smiling at him. "When did you learn to move so fast."
"It's called living alone." Shin smirked. "We can take it slow later, Ryou."
"Alright." Ryo laughed, wonder and love sparkling in his eyes. /This new Shin is different but you know I think I like it./ He thought with a grin. So not wasting any more time Ryo ran his fingers across Shin's soft flesh, giving the warrior of the sea exactly what he wanted. Hot and Heavy, from the beginning to the end.
----------------------------
"So um what happened with Luke anyway?" Ryo asked softly as they lay side by side staring up at the feather clouds floating by high over head in the crystal clear blow of the sky.
Shin sighed, and didn't say anything for a long few minutes. "Nothing ever happened between me and Luke, Ryou. We were just friends, hell sure he would have liked it to be more, but I love you. You were gone for a whole month what did you expect me to do? Stay inside the whole time?"
"No." Ryo muttered.
"Well I didn't. But nothing happened I went out for lunch with Luke once, and he tried to put the moves on me. Next time he called I told 'im I was sick. So he sent me the card and the little stuffed dolphin, that's all that happened. The rest of the time I was either at home, school, or out with one of the other guys." Shin caught Ryo's chin and made him look at him. "That's all that happened Ryou I swear."
"What did I do to deserve someone like you?" Ryo whispered, leaning over to kiss Shin softly on the lips. "I'm sorry."
"I know you are." Shin replied brushing Ryo's dark hair out of his face. "I know you are."

The End
